Welcome to the Bear Creek Foundation! The Foundation exists to support Bear Creek Community Charter School, and to help facilitate educational and other community outreach programs.

St. Christopher Community Center

In the fall of 2010, the Bear Creek Foundation purchased the property of the former Saint Christopher Roman Catholic Church along State Route 115 from the Diocese of Scranton. The purchase of this building, which has significant historical ties to our local community, most likely saved the building from demolition. With the assistance of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the Bear Creek Foundation completed renovations including new replacement windows, carpeting, new bathroom facilities, the purchase of furniture and the installation of audio and video technology.

St. Christopher Community Center opened in the Spring of 2011, providing a location for local youth organizations to conduct their programs and to provide additional space for Bear Creek Community Charter School activities. The Community Center has since been used for National Junior Honor Society ceremonies, Charter School staff training, and the Bear Creek Foundation's annual Community Halloween Party, and meetings of the Bear Creek Township Board of Supervisors. St. Christopher Community Center is also home-base for Cub Scout Pack 2000, Brownie Troop #30827 and Junior Girl Scout Troop #32520, which meet weekly at the Community Center.

If you represent a community organization interested in using the St. Christopher facility, please contact Arlene Jennings at 820-4070, extension 322.
